Lingle is a Lawbreaker

• Lingle has stifled dissent, using draconian measures.



• Her "Unified Command" consisting of Coast Guard, National Guard, Police, FBI, and DLNR officers pits neighbor against neighbor as good people are ordered to act against peaceful citizens with deadly force.
  
  
• Her "Protest Zones" take a page right out of Bush's handbook - hiding citizen dissent and free speech from view.
  
  
• She directed her Dept of Transportation Head to ignore environmental law.
  
  
• Her "Security Zones" bar the citizens of the neighbor islands from using their harbors as is customary and usual so that her neocon business buddy and former Secretary of the Navy, Lehman can force his unwanted, whale-killing ship on the Neighbor Islands.
  
  
• When the citizens sued and won a decision that she had violated the law for Bush's buddy, Lehman, she called the Legislature into special session and proposed a special interest Superferry Bailout Bill. Only the Superferry - the most environmentally destructive project in recent times - is allowed to operate without an EIS.
  
  
• She and her Attorney General Bennett have lied. Bennett in court denying that the Act 2 was a special interest bill even though both he and Lingle called it "the Superferry Bill".
  
  
• Lingle's Chief of Staff, Bob Awana, has been accused of corruption and bribery in connection with his 1/6 ownership of Saipan Waste Management. He resigned after becoming embroiled in blackmail (he was being blackmailed). Lingle, in a baffling statement, said, "The state has benefited tremendously from Bob's service. I will miss his wise counsel." Who taught whom about corruption?
  
  
• Lingle is being sued over her scheme to drug test State Employees (specifically teachers). Bill of Rights? What's that?
  
  
• Since the Hawai'i Appealate Court caused her so much trouble, she's taking another leaf out of Bush's book and packing it with inexperienced political yes-men (and women).
  
  
• As mayor of Maui, Lingle failed to stop a grading operation by land developers that damaged Maalaea Harbor and cost taxpayers $300,000.
  
  
• As mayor, Lingle hired her former husband to represent her in a lawsuit filed against the city.
  
  
• As mayor, Lingle steered County business to an auto dealership owned by her father. (Lingle's maiden name is Cutter.)
  
  
• During the 2004 Republican Convention when Hawai'i students were illegally detained in inhuman conditions, Lingle knew of their plight and did nothing to get them released.
  
  
• It has been reported that a federal investigation into the behavior of state officials or other members of official trade missions led by the governor is ongoing.
